Wet Hopped Homebrewing

How would you like to test your brewing prowess by making a batch of your very own wet hopped beer? For a select few homebrewers, we’re going to make this a possibility.

Tell us a little bit about your love affair with brewing and you might be chosen to snag some fresh, wet hops. But not only that, you’ll join Victory brewer Kyler Gretz and help with the harvest too! The 2nd generation Chinook and Centennial hops are likely to be ready for harvest at the end of July.

You’ll take home enough hops to brew a batch or two of any recipe you design. All we ask is for a photo and a review of how you think the recipe turned out and the hops performed.

As you know, hops mature at a rate we can’t control. Therefore, the hops will dictate the date which we schedule the harvest. We ask the selected homebrewers to be as flexible as possible in order to assure the best, freshest hops are harvested.

“We admire Kyler’s dedication to brewing at all levels. As a home brewer myself, I would have jumped at the opportunity to brew with fresh, wet hops. With that in mind, we are happy to give that opportunity to other aspiring brewers.”
~Bill Covaleski, President and Brewmaster

Please complete the following information  by July 13 to be entered. We will notify you on Wednesday, July 18th if you are selected to join in the harvest and secure some wet hops. Note, the number of brewers chosen to join us will be determined by the expected yield of the harvest.

The contest has been closed.

The Victory Brewing Story

The story of Victory Brewing Company starts on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school. The two became fast friends and remained so, even as they grew up and went to college on opposite coasts. Just months out of college, Bill’s appreciation of good beer and access to his father’s home brewing equipment inspired him to explore the hobby. That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft…
