You’re Invited: In Like a Monkey

We’ve all heard that old saying about March coming “in like a lion,” but at Victory, we’re switching it up a little bit and swapping animals while we’re at it. In honor of the release of our white wine barrel-aged Golden Monkey, White Monkey, we present you with “In like a Monkey.” Now that’s a lot of monkeying around.

But in all seriousness, join us at 9a.m. for “In Like a Monkey,” where you can get a hearty breakfast and a taste of the White Monkey.

What In Like a Monkey Is:

  1. A punny take on that old March idiom, brought to you by the pun master himself, Bill Covaleski.
  2. The day for you to come to our Downingtown brewpub to buy White Monkey.
  3. An opportunity to experience our delicious breakfast menu capabilities, which are not utilized nearly enough.
  4. A reason to have beer for breakfast! That’s fair, right?

What In Like a Monkey Is Not:

  1. The exact same event as Dark Wednesday, 2011.
  2. The only chance you’ll have to buy White Monkey (it’s going to be distributed throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, northern Virginia, New York City, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Colorado and Florida).

Snag a table, feed your tummy and even buy your White Monkey from your server without getting up from your dining spot (up to 6 bottles per person may be purchased from your server). If you plan to join us for breakfast, we encourage you to make a reservation. Please call (610-873-0881) to reserve your breakfast spot for parties of 6 or more from 9a.m.-11a.m. Restaurant and retail operations will open at 9am for case and bottle purchases of White Monkey.

In addition to chowing down on some great eats, you can sample White Monkey before you buy ($2.50/taster, $5.50 for 12oz. pour).

Breakfast Menu to Include:
Stuffed Cornflake French Toast with Blackberry Compote, Butter and Maple Syrup
Quiche — Spinach, Mushroom and Feta
Scrambled Eggs – Bacon or Sausage, Home Fries, English Muffin
Sticky Buns
Beer will be served or order up a Prima Mosa!

See you on March 2nd!

          Hi Adam,
Often times it takes a day or two for our website to link with the beerfinder service. If you have a favorite spot where you purchase beer, I would go ahead and give that place a call. They will be able to tell you if it is available!

I don’t see Illinois on that distribution list. No love for Chicago?

  6. Jeremy Leach February 25, 2013 at 5:29 PM #

How limited will this release be? Should draft and bottles at least be available all day on March 2nd?

    • Victory February 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM #

      Hi Jeremy!
We will begin sales at 9am on premise. Our reservations are booked and we are expecting a large crowd. We cannot make any promises that we will have any White Monkey left by EOD Saturday. As mentioned above and in the other comments, White Monkey is going to be distributed throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, northern Virginia, New York City, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Colorado and Florida. Coming to Victory on 3/2 is not the only chance you will have to purchase this beer.

      Cheers!

    White Monkey is TRIUMPHANT!

    The quiche…not so much!

White Monkey is one fantastic ale. One of the best I’ve had. Travel to Belgium for work often and I think this could hold it’s own against some of the best.

Keep it coming! Any plans for future barrel aged creations? So happy I live in Dtown.

The Victory Brewing Story

The story of Victory Brewing Company starts on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school. The two became fast friends and remained so, even as they grew up and went to college on opposite coasts. Just months out of college, Bill’s appreciation of good beer and access to his father’s home brewing equipment inspired him to explore the hobby. That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft…
