Q: How long have you worked here at Victory?
A: I have been at Victory for 3 years now.

Q: What is the best thing about your job? And the worst?
A: Best? I love having contact with new and different people. These include not only the managers at my accounts, but also the people I meet that are enjoying our products. The worst? Keeping up with the demand! Victory’s popularity, amongst both casual and serious beer lovers, has grown exponentially over the past few years. My co-workers and I do our best to make sure our products are available in their areas.

Q: What was the worst job you ever had?
A: Hahahaha. I worked for a vending machine company in a city not too far from here. It was strictly nights. And the area was not the safest. It was pretty terrifying sometimes, to say the least!

Q: Tell me something about yourself that no one would know just by looking at you.
A: I am a pretty accomplished handyman. Laying carpet, fixing leaky faucets, expertly cutting and installing crown molding. You name it. I even restored and installed a beautiful clawfoot tub in a master bathroom. It was a pain to move up three flights, but totally worth it.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Why?
A: I wanted to be an architect. The idea of creating something permanent, like a building, seemed so appealing and I would have loved to watch my plans come to fruition.

Q: What do you miss most about being a kid?
A: Snow days! But seriously…snow days. And the recent string of snowstorms only makes me wish I were still in school. Now when I see snow, all I can think of is how bad it will be driving to work.

Q: If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
A: Superbowl III – 1968

Q: Finish this sentence: Beer is…
A: Good.

Q: What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
A: “Bad Blood” by Bastille. Check it out.

Q: What is your favorite line to quote from a movie?
A: “Buzz! Your girlfriend! Woof!” I won’t even tell you the movie. Shame on you if you’re not familiar.

Q: What is your favorite Victory beer and food pairing?
A: DirtWolf Double IPA with lemon-pepper chicken over pasta.

Q: If you knew the world was ending, what would you do differently?
A: My diet would change significantly. Nothing but cookies from there on out.

Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
A: I would choose the ability to fly. No more walking for me!

Q: Which celebrity do people tell you that you resemble?
A: Barney Rubble.

Q: Who is your celebrity crush?
A: Moon Bloodgood and Malin Akerman.

Q: What would you name the autobiography of your life?
A: Up and Adam.

The Victory Brewing Story

The story of Victory Brewing Company starts on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school. The two became fast friends and remained so, even as they grew up and went to college on opposite coasts. Just months out of college, Bill’s appreciation of good beer and access to his father’s home brewing equipment inspired him to explore the hobby. That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft…
