Hello Goodbye

“I don’t know why you say goodbye, I say hello.” – The Beatles

In dealing with the fact that two persons may hold opposing views on a subject The Beatles 1967 hit is downright jaunty with optimism and positive attitude. Kinda like Victory Brewing Company today.

As we throw open the doors to our renovated restaurant, we see nothing but clear blue skies full of opportunity and promise. We’re set to say ‘hello’ to many more guests at any one time, and ‘goodbye’ to hour plus waits for tables on weekends. Our menu is set to greet you with authentic barbeque items that augment our beloved hearth oven pizzas and nearly legendary sandwiches like the Jerk Grinder. And promising to deliver even more great, unique beer experiences are our twenty taps, currently loaded up with 20 styles and with more new beers waiting in the wings. You won’t be able to overlook the impressive Brewmaster’s Booth when you now enter Victory as it’s capped by a gleaming copper brewhouse top that once belonged to a German brewery. That booth stands ready to accommodate you and nearly a dozen friends for memorable moments with great beer and great cuisine. That’s a whole lot of possibilities for you to say ’hello’ to in your future visits to Victory.

Of course, in order to renovate we have had to change some aspects of our original facility and so there may be those who might be inclined to sing only the ‘goodbye’ refrain of the song. To their point, sure, the old bar top which gathering dust. Lying in storage, it is not abandoned, but merely resting for perhaps another opportunity to serve you in the future. Similarly, the old tables that witnessed so many great times have moved on. They are about to begin their second life at our friend Tom’s soon-to-open Mount Airy (Philadelphia) brewpub, Earth Brewery & Bakery. And rather than shout over the noise and heat of the old underbar beer coolers, you can focus your attention and conversation on the twin LCD flatscreen televisions as your draft beer is delivered from a perfectly chilled remote draft cooler through perfectly chilled lines.

As the final push to renovate was in full swing this past weekend, we were surrounded by cheerful folks who embraced the promise of change.

Brewery pal Bryce put in a long Sunday arranging the brewery trays, posters and beer cans that he and his Dad had collected over a lifetime into the custom cabinet we had a local craftsman build to house his precious collection of Pennsylvania brewing history. All the while, Bill of Brandywine Draught Service was sweating the details of our impressive new draft system. From the open kitchen, Chef James was all smiles as his new barbecue smoker was churning out incredible aromas and perfectly crisped yet juicy smoked chickens for the staff to try.

All of these folks, ourselves included, are happy that you are here to experience a new chapter in Victory Brewing Company. We appreciate the opportunity you have granted us to say hello to you all over again.

Cheers,
Bill & Ron
