Hi great event last year!! My only complaint: Only one of the BBQ participants shared any of their product with the visitors during the event. Then when the event is judged, nobody has tasted the other food, and cannot enjoy the judging moment, and nobody really cares who wins because we havent tasted their BBQ. Can it be changed up this year to ask every participant to provide a sample to the visitors of the event? Otherwise, why really attend?? You can have a great tasting Victory anywhere – dont really need to spend a afternoon watching other people eat BBQ!

Hi, haven’t heard back. Have you considered my request? Much like Chili-Fest in West Chester, we’d get to try all the competitors entries. Thanks…still awaiting your reply.

Hi Victory team! Another month has gone by without your reply. I first asked my question in April. Now I’m guessing you’re going to tell me it’s too late to change the BrewBQ format. Hope I’m wrong and you tell me that the crowd gets to participate in the BBQ tasting, and not just watch from the sidelines! Go Victory!

Hi Tom! Thanks for your patience. Because of health codes and FDA approval, the Pit Master teams are not legally allowed to serve their food to event attendees. We will have seven restaurants that will be participating. Please enjoy all of their pork and vote for your favorite. Cheers!

Thanks for the reply! Maybe next year you can emulate what the West Chester Chili Cook Off does, since somehow they can serve patrons! Thanks again!

Suggestion – Have the participating restaurants PURCHASE some of the Pit Master offerings and then give it away or sell it. Good luck.

The Victory Brewing Story

The story of Victory Brewing Company starts on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school. The two became fast friends and remained so, even as they grew up and went to college on opposite coasts. Just months out of college, Bill’s appreciation of good beer and access to his father’s home brewing equipment inspired him to explore the hobby. That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft…
