To celebrate three years of First Friday art shows at Drink Philly, all 21+ drinkers in the Philadelphia area are invited to a special festival at the home of the Arden Theatre Company from 5–9 PM on Friday, September 6.
Attendees will enjoy drinks from Philadelphia Distilling (makers of Bluecoat gin), beer from Victory Brewing Company, Evolution Craft Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company and coffee from Green Street Coffee Roasters. Food will be provided by Brauhaus Schmitz, The Victoria Freehouse, MilkBoy and The Continental. The event is free to enter, but a $5 donation at the door to nonprofit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which is dedicated to finding better treatments and ultimately cures for all kids with cancer, is suggested.
Local art available for purchase will be on display in the space, which is located on the first floor of the Old City theater, and musician Tom Moon will play live jazz throughout the night. Advance RSVP via DrinkPhilly.com is strongly encouraged.
Drink Philly first held a First Friday gathering in August of 2010, and now holds the art shows/food and drink tastings on a quarterly basis. The Arden lobby has presented First Friday programs since 2010, hosting local performing arts groups, offering interactive audience activities, and serving complimentary beer to visitors. In 2012, the Arden was one of thirty-five winners of the night Arts Challenge, with a $50,000 grant to support First Fridays.
