Malt Beverage Aged in Bourbon Barrels
As its name implies, our Old Horizontal Barleywine-style ale has been inducing hoppy, heavenly slumbers for its fans since it was first brewed in 1996. Characterized by a snoozing moon, this substantial brew has been serving as a winter warmer for years, and we decided it deserved its own rest. So we brewed up some batches and put it to bed in oak barrels that once held bourbon. During its three-month nap, the newly named Oak Horizontal enjoyed a transformation of flavors as the rich sweetness of the barleywine combined with the oaky, vanilla flavors of the barrels to become a truly dreamy brew.
