Victory Named Best Area Brewery by Philly Beer Scene Magazine for Second Consecutive Year

Victory beers win Best Pilsner, Best Belgian Style and Best Stout awards

DOWNINGTOWN, PA – Victory Brewing Company is still the best area brewery, according to consumers who voted in the Second Annual Best of the Philly Beer Scene Awards. In addition to winning the Best Area Brewery Award for the second year in a row, three of Victory’s beers were also honored; Prima Pils won Best Pilsner, Golden Monkey won Best Belgian Style and Storm King Stout won Best Stout.

Mat Falco and Neil Harner, founders of Philly Beer Scene magazine, gathered other local craft beer experts together to help them decide on the nominees for each category. Once the nominees were set the power was given to local beer drinkers, who voted online.

According to Philly Beer Scene, “It is no surprise that Victory laid claim for a second year in a row to this award. Beers like their Prima Pils and Storm King Stout make them a choice brewer… They also created the extremely palatable session beer loaded with citra hops, Headwaters Pale Ale. And, they dominated the heat with their summer release, Summer Love.”

Prima Pils, Golden Monkey and Storm King Stout are all available on draft and by the bottle at the brewpub in Downingtown, as well as at bars and retailers across the country.

That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft…
